چکیده

The Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar combines the signals from multiple transmit and receive elements separately to form a virtual array. Consequently, system imperfections in MIMO caused by channel imbalance mutual coupling are repeatedly present array, affecting beamforming performance. In this paper, beam pattern deviations these described mathematically relation single point target. Furthermore, nonparametric calibration technique estimate compensate for effects at different angles is presented exploiting that same times proposed method applied measurements with an 8 $\times $ colocated X-band radar, peak sidelobe level (PSL) integrated (ISL) used as performance parameters. found improve both PSL ISL approximately 15 dB within whole field-of-view (FOV) antennas not minimum scatterers. For above ±30° antenna boresight, of surpass other methods. This advantageous radars they typically cover wide FOV.

A capon beamforming method for clutter suppression in colocated compressive sensing based MIMO radars

Compressive sensing (CS) based multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar systems that explore the sparsity of targets in the target space enable either the same localization performance as traditional methods but with significantly fewer measurements, or significantly improved performance with the same number of measurements. However, the enabling assumption, i.e., the target sparsity, diminishes i...

Mutual Coupling Reduction Between Flexible MIMO Antennas

In this chapter, a novel μ-negative (MNG) metamaterial structure is proposed to reduce mutual coupling between two printed monopole antennas operating at 2.45 GHz. The unit cell consists of two split ring resonator (SRR) structures bridged at the centre, which mimics a cascaded filter; hence, termed as Bridged Split Ring Resonators (BSRRs). This approach enhances the magnitude and bandwidth of ...

Performance of Target Detection in Phased-MIMO Radars

In this paper, the problem of target detection in phased-MIMO radars is considered and target detection performance of phased-MIMO radars is compared with MIMO and phased-array radars. Phased-MIMO radars combine advantages of the MIMO and phased-array radars. In these radars, the transmit array will be partitioned into a number of subarrays that are allowed to overlap and each subarray transmit...

Effect of Signal and Noise Mutual Coupling on MIMO Channel Capacity

In this paper we analyze the impact of mutual coupling on MIMO channel capacity, considering its effect on both signal and thermal noise. We calculate noise correlation matrix in the multi-antenna system with closely spaced antenna by applying Nyquist’s thermal noise theorem. Then, we employ the noise correlation matrix in the channel capacity formula, which enables the identification of therma...

Mimo Beamforming with Mutual Coupling, Limited Feedback and Coordination

DONG, YUHAN. MIMO Beamforming with Mutual Coupling, Limited Feedback and Coordination. (Under the direction of Dr. Brian L. Hughes). Multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) techniques use multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver to improve the performance of wireless communications systems over multipath fading channels. In recent years, MIMO techniques that employ transmit beamforming h...
